Located in the village of Oak Lawn, 11 miles SW of Chicago, the property is situated in an area originally named Black Oaks Grove for the abundance of Black Oaks that lined the modern day 95th Street. Changing the name in the late 1800’s, the area still boasts more than 300 acres of parks. The site is adjacent to the 95th Street Corridor which future urban plan developments include the establishment of an “Avenue of the Arts” to support place making within the Town Center.
The iconic 12 story, 186 room property will undergo a total renovation of all the public, food and beverage; conference; guestrooms and amenity areas transforming the property into a contemporary modern hotel. Blending the old with new, the overall design will incorporate a range of oak materials from natural to black oaks connecting the spaces to the historic roots. Custom iron architectural elements and artwork from local artists and craftsman will further promote a connection with the local community and with the surrounding arts district neighborhood.
